Oatmeal Carmeletas
This recipe was super yummy!! It is actually my Aunt Shana's mom's recipe that we have had for a long time. so a family recipe this time. I made it a couple days ago and it has taken awhile for me to put it up because my pictures were giving me hard time. BUT here it is :) :

Crust: 1C flour
           1C oats
           3/4 C brown sugar
           1/2 t soda
           1/4 t salt
           3/4 C butter
you mix all the ingred. and press 1/2 into a pan bake at 350 for 10 mins. you add the filling,
Filling: 1 C choco chips
            1/2 C nuts
3/4 C carmel ice cream topping
            3 T flour
and then you sprinkle the rest of the crust on top of the filling and you bake it for 15- 20 mins.
I used 1 C of these carmel bits instead of the carmel topping and flour. I liked the taste of them, but i would suggest softening them up before adding them, because they never really melted enough. but they still tasted good! i mean we didn't have to like throw it out or anything.
TADA!! finished product

I decided to do a separate post for my cookies :). So these DIDN'T turn out as good as I wanted to for my first baking post.. but they turned out ok. I used double the butter instead of using both butter and shortening.

Snicker-Doodles

for Snicker- Doodles you will need:

1/2 C butter
1/2 C short.
1 1/2 C sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 C flour
2 t crm of tartar
1 t soda
1/4 t salt

First step is cream butter, short. and sugar

Add eggs and mix well
i sieved my dry ingredients

and then you add it to your wet ingred.

Roll into balls and roll in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.

Bake at 400 for 8 to 10 mins and presto!
I think because of the extra butter and no short. they turned out flat.. but they still tasted good :)
Ok! so my first day of cooking for my blog went pretty good. I made taco soup and Snicker-doodles. I made a mess of the kitchen, But I cleaned up after :) because I am a good daughter. And plus my mom didn't have to cook dinner tonight which I'm sure she likes to not have to do. I was happy to do it, because Taco Soup is one of my FAVORITE things to cook. Which when I think about it is weird because i'm not much of a soup person in the first place.. I wouldn't usually choose soup to eat. But I like Taco Soup.. ANYWAY! enough talk now for some pictures of my cooking adventures tonight.

Taco Soup
First you brown some Ground Beef. Sometimes I like to use Ground Turkey, its better for you and I never taste a difference.
After that is all good and browned you add V-8 juice. I like to use this rather than just tomato juice.
Then you add beans and corn

The seasonings you will add are Taco seasoning, chili powder, and cumin
I add about 2 Tablespoons of the Taco seasoning and chili powder to start with and add more if I feel like it needs it. and i add about 1 to 2 teaspoons of the cumin. But you can add as much as you like.
And the end result is a yummy bubbly mess of goodness. We usually eat it with chips, sour cream, and avocados. TRY IT and enjoy :)

WELCOME
This is the 3rd time I've made a blog.. and something always happens, I forget my password, I forget my username.. BOTH.. I never know what to write so I do three or four posts and then I lose motivation..etc. etc.
But, this blog has a purpose! so I am hoping that it will NOT fall by the wayside as a lack of motivation or remembrance. SO! I invite you to come along with me on my journey of figuring out WHAT I want to do with my future  and how I want to start it. You can watch and participate in my exploration of my interests and what cooking I do along the way. I know I love to cook and bake, but HOW much do I love it is the question... THE JOURNEY BEGINS..
